Taking inspiration from the popular Paddy Dakar in Ireland, the Taffy Dakar is an annual motorcycle orienteering event, and it’s back on once again this weekend in the beautiful valleys of South Wales!
The event sees teams of between 2 and 6 riders compete to win the prestigious Taffy Dakar Trophy, along with the highly prized Pembroke Trophy, and as it has grown in size, bikers from across Europe have joined the party by traveling to Wales to take part.
Competitors must be riding a trail bike, or a motorcycle that is 500cc or more to enter. Sidecar units from the likes of Ural are also permitted, along with the Honda C50 and C90. No enduro bikes are allowed to compete in the event.
Earlier this year we welcomed the new Capra EXT to our UK range.
It’s an aggressive, road-legal tyre which is perfect for green laning and trail riding – and was used by the UK winner of the Trans-European Gibraltar Race in 2017, Mark Kinnard, ahead of it’s official launch.
We’ve teamed up with the Taffy Dakar to give one team the chance to win a pair of Capra EXT tyres this weekend, so they can try them out for themselves.
Good luck to everyone taking part this bank holiday weekend – we hope the weather will hold out for you!
